I’ve never kept your typical diary. The ones where writers stary off “Dear Diary” or “Dear Journal”. To me that has been so 1950’s 60’s teenage girl cliché. I’ve mentioned my love for the 50’s and 60’s, some things are just too overkill for me. Nothing good can come of a diary, especially when it gets into the wrong hands. Granted, some diaries have been historically significant, such as Anne Frank’s The Diary of a Young Girl and Nelson Mandela’s Conversations with Myself.
Now, I have BEEN the subject of not one, but TWO diaries of people who were very close to me. One in a notebook and one online. I stumbled upon the notebook when it was left open and saw my name. The online version was disclosed to me when it was published. I was able to access both and read some very hurtful things. Again, nothing good can come from a diary.
Join me as I discuss the first half of "The Maid’s Diary" by Loreth Anne White, a psychological suspense novel that keeps you on edge with every page turn.
