It’s that time of year again! Oh boy.
Doing everything an hour earlier so that you have more sunlight in the afternoon or evening sounds like a novel idea. I like doing stuff outside and not having to be in the dark as much as the next person. This sounds great. But, why do we insist on doing this ritual twice a year just to mess up everyone’s internal clock? Also, I thought Biden said we could stop with the façade?
I feel lied to.
Maybe if we just agreed to disagree? I would be willing to meet in the middle. Here’s an idea - Everyone just set their clock back 30 minutes. This is fine.
I don’t want to get up a whole hour early but I do like getting off of work around 5pm and knowing that it will still be light outside for a bit after getting home. When I worked nights, daylight “savings” meant that I would still get home in the dark around 6am. In the transition there were multiple days where I would barely see the sun at all. Those were dark times.
Ha.
Hanging out on the back porch or deck and the sun is still up at 8pm is great. Going to the amusement parks and knowing after sunset there’s still multiple hours of coaster riding to be had is the best! Getting off work without feeling like all the sunlight was wasted is good too.
Maybe there’s more plusses, but I don’t like waking up tired and I’m not looking forward to November 5th either.
What do you think about Daylight Savings Time? Yay? Nay? Hit us up in the comments. Don’t forget to peace up in the grill and love the world.
